ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – UNM Hospital is getting national recognition for its work saving cardiac patients.

The American Heart Association has awarded UNM-H two awards for the hospital’s quick response to cardiac emergencies.

Officials say the staff’s quick execution of critical care for heart attack, stroke and cardiac arrest patients has significantly improved patient outcomes.

The hospital says it takes a team of 80 people to pull this off.
