ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The University of New Mexico is joining forces with landscape architecture firm Groundwork Studio to raise awareness about the importance of trees.
As part of the “#treetag” project, 15 trees around the UNM campus were tagged with information showing how valuable they are.
Organizers say they hope this will start the conversation about what people can do to improve the environment.
“If we’re around trees we’re just generally calmer. It reduces our stress response which makes us more creative. It makes us more focused. It helps us work together better,” said Amy Bell from Groundwork Studio.
While the showing at UNM is three days only, organizers are already looking for their next location.
