ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Classes start Monday but a big mess remains outside of the University of New Mexico’s Hodgin Hall Alumni Center.
The Alumni Association had plans to spruce up the area with a new fountain and courtyard.
Work started but when the Board of Regents learned the Alumni Association was planning to spend $350,000, of its own money, they put a halt to the project.
The school said a major renovation like this needed to be approved first.
The project was scheduled to be approved Thursday during a meeting, but the motion was tabled.
