The University of New Mexico broke ground Tuesday on the new Physics and Astronomy and Interdisciplinary Science Building.
Officials hope the $137,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility will lead to revolutionizing research.
The building will house classrooms, offices and laboratory space for scientists from across campus.
Officials say the price-tag for the building is $67.5 million, surpassing the renovation of The Pit.
It’s expected to be completed in fall 2019.
