ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The University of New Mexico is in the process of breaking ground on a new building for its business school. The nearly $25 million facility will be more than 60,000 square feet, giving the school eight new classrooms.
The new building will be called the McKinnon Center for Management for long-time UNM supporters Ian McKinnon and his wife, who gave $5.5 million to the school.
School officials say it will also include a state-of-the-art marketing lab, a behavioral research lab and an innovation center.
The acting dean says the new facilities are expected to attract new faculty which will help with the growing student population.
Construction is expected to be completed by May of 2018.
