UNM Board of Regents lose longest serving member

News

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- The UNM Board of Regents has lost its longest serving member.

The regents say Jack Fortner submitted his letter of resignation Tuesday.

Fortner’s six-year term expired in December, but he continued to serve until now because a replacement had not been confirmed by the state senate.

He is a full-time attorney in Farmington and also a San Juan County Commissioner.

He served 18 years on the UNM Board of Regents.
