ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Ultimate Fighting champion is standing up against the recent dog thefts and pleading with the community to break the cycle of dog fighting. Timmy Means started the effort after first hearing about his friend’s pitbull being taken from Torrance County. Means says dog fighting is a form of bullying and he’s not going to stand for it in his community.

Means is now pledging $1,000 in addition to the $5,000 put up by Mayor R.J. Berry to catch the people who are taking dogs. Means is calling on the MMA community to contribute.

Aside from speaking out against dog fighting Means also runs a youth program where he encourages kids to take a stand against bullying.
