A New Mexico woman charged with murder on the Navajo Nation is appearing in U.S. District Court for the first time.
FBI agents arrested Trudy Martinez after they say she shot and killed her sister-in-law last week in Twin Lakes. They say she then fled the scene with her own children who are 5,9, and 10.
The children are now safe with family. Authorities found Martinez Thursday in Gallup.
