The trial for the alleged car thieves who killed a mother and daughter has been delayed.
Elexus Groves and Paul Garcia are accused of stealing a van, then fleeing from police and crashing into and killing Shauna Arredondo Boling and her 14-year-old daughter Shaylee back in January 2017.
The two were scheduled to go on trial next week, but the State asked that be delayed while an appeal is heard in the case.
A judge threw out the first-degree murder charge saying it did not fit.
Prosecutors still believe it applies and will ask the State Supreme Court to weigh in.
