SANTA FE (KRQE) – Although the recent episode of “The Bachelor” that featured Santa Fe has drawn ridicule, the city’s tourism department says its investment has paid off.
John Feins, the public relations manager for Tourism Santa Fe, told the Santa Fe New Mexican that the two-hour episode generated more than $2 million from media impressions.
Media impressions refers to the number of people who might have been made aware of Santa Fe’s appearance on “The Bachelor” in print, broadcast or online.
During the episode, Santa Fe was spelled wrong and one of the contestants didn’t realize New Mexico is in the U.S.
The city paid $50,000 for the show shoot in Santa Fe. The city is scheduled to make another appearance in next week’s episode.
