One of the teens who was given probation after taking part in a high profile murder and robbery is now accused of another shooting and robbery.
Enrique Palomino was one of the teens involved in the murder of Steven Gerecke in 2015. Gerecke confronted the teens while they were on a robbery spree.
Now, Palomino is charged with an April 5 robbery and shooting near Aztec and Tulane. According to court documents, two teens were walking in the area when Palomino and several others confronted them, started calling them names, and then started beating one of them while robbing the other.
The group then shot one of them, four times. The teen somehow survived.
Investigators say while Palomino denies his involvement, his GPS monitor shows he was there at the time of the shooting. He’s been wearing that monitor as part of his probation in the Gerecke killing.
Earlier this week, Palomino admitted to violating that probation and was sent back to the juvenile lockup until he’s 21. These latest charges mean he could be headed to adult prison.
