SANTA FE (KRQE) – A 19-year-old woman who has been cited twice before for underage drinking is accused of driving drunk and crashing into a mother and her daughter. The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office says Selena Velasquez drank three beers before the crash on west Alameda Street and Sierra Azul Monday night.
The other driver, Maria Miramontes, broke two bones in her right leg and her 8-year-old daughter fractured her eye socket.
Velasquez also broke a bone in one of her legs. Authorities are waiting on a blood-alcohol test before charging her with causing great bodily injury by vehicle.
