Swimming event raises thousands of dollars for cancer research and treatment

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Splash Away Cancer! event raised more than $12,000 for cancer research and treatment.

The event was held at the Armond H. Seidler Natatorium at the University of New Mexico, Saturday morning.

Swimmers of all ages and abilities participated by raising money and swimming 500 yards, one mile or two miles.

This event celebrates swimmers and others who have survived or are living with cancer, and honors those who have lost their battle to cancer.

Splash Away Cancer! is sponsored by the Lobo Aquatic Club, University of New Mexico Recreational Services and New Mexico Masters Swimming.
