Suspended UNM football player released from jail

A now suspended UNM football player accused of beating his ex-girlfriend and one of his teammates has been released.

Rayshawn Boyce is accused of breaking into the woman’s home near San Mateo and Zuni last month.

Police say Boyce then attacked one of her friends, who also happens to be one of his teammates on the football team.

Boyce allegedly hit the woman too, and fired off a gun, hitting her car multiple times.

Friday in court, Judge Charles Brown denied the state’s motion asking that he be held until trial and released him.

According to UNM, Boyce has been suspended from the team indefinitely.
