Suspect who shot at deputies arrested


VALENCIA COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – A man accused of shooting at Valencia County deputies while fleeing in a stolen car has been arrested. Caleb Tenorio, 29, was arrested during a SWAT standoff early Thursday morning.

Deputies say Tenorio was pulled over Wednesday in a stolen vehicle. He fled and shot at them in the process. Luckily, no one was hit.

Officers caught up with Tenorio in the 1200 block of South Main in Belen.

Along with car theft charges, he’s facing charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer fleeing and shooting from a motor vehicle.
