ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man is headed to prison after he was sentenced in connection with the murder of a teen in the South Valley.
Jack Trujillo was sentenced to seven years behind bars.
In 2015, Trujillo and a friend, Esias Madrid, showed up to a party. The two got into an argument after a game of beer pong, and Madrid fatally shot 18-year-old Arturo Villa.
Trujillo shot another victim in the leg.
Wednesday afternoon, Villa’s mother spoke in court.
“There’s not a day that goes by that my heart doesn’t grieve his absence, nor a day that I don’t go visit his grave,” she said.
Earlier this year, Madrid was sentenced to 16 years in prison for Villa’s murder.
