Survey: Albuquerque residents don’t feel safe

News

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Violent crime rates in Albuquerque are a factor in how safe people who live here feel. That’s according to a Yahoo article based on a 2014 Gallup poll. The Duke City comes in at number 11 on a list of the top 20 cities where locals feel unsafe.

The poll says just over 30 percent of those they talked to said they felt unsafe. The article says violent crime rates are 110 percent higher than the national average and 26 percent higher than the state average.

Other cities on the list include Detroit, Philadelphia and New Orleans. To see the full list »
