Sunport officials say construction work at the airport should not interfere with your holiday travel plans.
The city is investing tens of millions of dollars on projects there, including work on the departure area, the baggage terminals, and the building’s exterior.
While thousands of people will move in and out of the Sunport this weekend, officials say none of it should slow you down.
“Obviously it’s impacting what people see and experience at the airport especially if they’re departing… But for the most part everything is operating as normal,” spokesperson Stephanie Kitts said.
The city says it’s been 30 years since it’s made any major renovations to the Sunport.
Construction should wrap up in October.
