ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A new study reports legalizing pot in New Mexico would create a half a billion dollar industry.
Ultra Health in Bernalillo is one of 35 state-licensed producers in New Mexico.
It commissioned the study that says legalizing pot, would create more than 11,000 jobs, and generate three times more revenue than the state’s pecan crop.
But the pathway to legalizing marijuana in New Mexico is tricky.
The governor is against it. Also, back in February, six Democrats joined Republicans to oppose a proposal that would have let voters decide whether to legalize and tax recreational marijuana.
