ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The State Supreme Court denied a petition seeking to remove a proposed Albuquerque sick-leave ordinance from the ballot in October.
The “Healthy Workforce Ordinance” would require Albuquerque employers to offer their employees paid sick leave. A group of local businesses argued parts of the proposal violated the state constitution and asked the Supreme Court to remove it.
Their appeal was rejected Friday.
