State Police: Quezada did not violate campaign laws

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – State Police say “case closed” after a political candidate sued a another.

Republican Patricia Paiz had accused Democrat Steven Michael Quezada of failing to sign of paperwork need to declare his candidacy for Bernalillo County Commissioner.

Paiz’s lawsuit included an affidavit from a handwriting analyst who says Quezada’s wife filled out the form, which would have been a violation of campaign laws.

Quezada, who won by a landslide, said it was untrue and even released pictures showing he was there when the forms were filed.

Now, State Police say they have closed the investigation after it was revealed all the handwriting on the form was true and correct.
