News

ESPAÑOLA, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police said Tuesday that a missing Nevada woman was found in New Mexico chained in a van.

Witnesses told police they saw 28-year-old Jane Priebe being dragged out of her Las Vegas, Nevada apartment Monday morning wearing only her underwear. They say she was forced down the stairs and into a van.

Police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Jack Morgan and sent out a description of the van and an alert to the public, including New Mexico police.

Española police were able to track Priebe through a cellphone and set up a traffic stop south of the city. They said they found Priebe in the rear cargo of the van, tied up with chains padlocked around her and handcuffs around her waist.

New Mexico State Police also found Morgan and another man, 19-year-old Samuel Brown. They were taken into custody for questioning.

Police in Las Vegas say this is now a federal investigation.

New Mexico State Police say Priebe is still in a hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

It’s unclear whether Priebe and the men knew each other.
