State auditor Wayne Johnson is performing an spending audit on Andrea Romero, the executive director of the Regional Coalition of LANL Communities, and the coalition as a whole.
The coalition is a collection of nine cities near Los Alamos National Labs and is not directly affiliated with the lab.
Romero’s contract ended in February.
Selection of a new executive director could come as early as Friday.
Correction: In a previous version of this article we stated that “the state auditor plans to investigate controversial spending habits at Los Alamos National Lab.” However, the state auditor is performing a spending audit on Andrea Romero who is the executive director of the Regional Coalition and the coalition as a whole, not Los Alamos National Labs.
