TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico’s Spaceport is helping test one of the new manned spaceships NASA will use for astronaut trips to the space station. Recently, Boeing sent up a test version of its New Starliner Capsule from Spaceport America on a high altitude balloon. It was cut loose at 40,000 feet to test the parachutes that will lower the spacecraft and its astronauts back to earth. The first New Mexico flight was a success. The Starliner is one of two spacecraft NASA has chosen to replace the Space Shuttle.
