Snow leopard adjusts to new life at the BioPark

A snow leopard named “Dash” has arrived at the BioPark.

The five-month-old cat came from a wildlife park in Kansas.

Those caring for him decided the zoo here was better equipped to address his health issues, which include difficulty walking and poor eyesight.

“We hope to get his eyes evaluated and see if he’s a candidate for cataract surgery, and if not we’ll just make this a good home for him and keep him as healthy as we can,” said lead veterinarian Dr. Carol Bradford.

Zookeepers say Dash was hand-raised, so he’s very comfortable around people.
