It was a big day for shopping, as many people were out exchanging or returning gifts the day after Christmas.
Hundreds poured into the mall despite the chilly weather.
Some say their clothes just didn’t fit – others went to spend their Christmas cash on stuff they have been needing.
“I got money, which is better because I can shop at anywhere,” said Mindy James.
“I wanted to come back to the mall to return things,” said Christie Gleason.
“We came here with about $600 and now we have about $120,” said Skyler Mund.
Although a busy day, shoppers tell us the lines inside haven’t been too bad.
News 13 spoke to several people making a day out of looking for deals, many grabbing meals in between stores.
Joyel Runyan came all the way from Germany to visit her mom and to shop at her favorite stores
“It was a good time to spend shopping,” said her mom, Nina Sams.
“Try on American clothes for a change,” said Runyan.
“And you can read the tags,” added Sams.
“I can read everything,” said Runyan, laughing.
According to the National Retail Federation, about half of all Americans will hit the stores this week for some deals after the holiday. Stats show about a quarter of Americans come to use gift cards, and 17 percent to return or exchange gifts.
There is still plenty of time to get out and shop, as the mall has extended hours this time of year, closing at 10 p.m. Wednesday.
