This year’s Holiday Market at the Albuquerque Rail Yards kicked off Friday, and so far it appears to be a big hit.
Organizers said the historic building nearly hit capacity as shoppers browsed the stalls full of products from more than 220 New Mexico vendors.
Customers who KRQE News 13 spoke with say they were thrilled to see such a big turnout, especially on a weekday afternoon.
“It’s good to see everybody supporting local business,” shopper Samantha Lopez said.
“Yeah, it’s incredible to see people putting their Christmas dollars, looking for presents, back into the community, back into Albuquerque…that goes a long way,” Emma Clap added.
The market continues Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
Entry is free. There’s also a free Park and Ride shuttle running from Second and Gold streets.
