Shoplifting suspects grab hundreds of dollars in merchandise from Ulta

Albuquerque Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a female duo who they say stole hundreds of dollars worth of products from a makeup store over the weekend.

According to the incident report, nearly $800 in merchandise was taken in less than 20 minutes from the Ulta store near Paseo and Wyoming.

APD said the two suspects can be seen on store surveillance coming into the store Friday afternoon.

APD describes them as a woman in her 30s pushing another woman possibly in her 40s in a wheelchair and who has one leg. One of the women has a Zia tattoo on her neck.

They left with the items in a bag on the side of the wheelchair, the incident report states.

“They’re taking stuff they can sell at the flea market or on the internet,” Officer Simon Drobik said.

Drobik added that it is common for criminals to target big box stores.

They assume they will get away with the crime because many stores train their employees not to confront shoplifters.

That does not mean these women are off the hook.

“We’ll always ask for video. We’ll use that video to identify them for misdemeanor or felony crimes,” Drobik said.”The way we can get them is through 843-STOP. Give us a call to Crime Stoppers and let us know.”

Last week, tips from Crime Stoppers led police to arrest 30-year-old Ashley Dilley. She is accused of stealing hundreds of dollars in makeup from the same store.

APD said this duo stole from the same Ulta store a couple of months ago and had a man with them.

They all face felony charges.
