Severe weather notification system offered in southeastern New Mexico

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – People in southeastern New Mexico can now sign up for severe weather notifications.

Spring often brings tornadoes, severe thunder, hail storms and snow has been known to paralyze the area.

Now the Roswell and Chaves County Office of Emergency Management Office has signed up for an emergency notification system called “Civic Ready.”

People can select how they want to be notified including by text, email or a voice message.

To sign up, call the Chaves County Office of Emergency Management.
