Severe storm travels past Albuquerque metro

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the Albuquerque metro area as the storm approached the city’s Westside.

The storm passed through the Jemez Springs area earlier Tuesday evening.

Golf ball sized hail was possible as the storm continued to slide south. Storms also developed in the east, with the potential to produce very gusty winds.

Other areas of concern included along the I-25 corridor and I-40 corridor headed west.

A power outage also impacted customers in Rio Rancho Tuesday night.

The outage spans north to south between Northern at Highway 528 and Uva Road at Corrales Road, and east to west between the river and Highway 528.

The cause remains unknown. The estimated restore time is 10:15 p.m.
