Senior home residents continue stuffed animal donations for APD

A senior facility is working to make tough situations more bear-able for kids going through hard times.

While APD does many things to keep Albuquerque safe, few know officers also drive around with stuffed animals for children they may come across.

Residents from Las Colinas Village Senior Home do their part to assist in the task by visiting thrift stores and finding and cleaning stuffed animals to be donated to APD.

“The residents are excited to be a part of the greater Albuquerque community too. I think they like the idea of being able to help kids,” said Andy King Executive Director at Las Colinas Village.

Las Colinas has been donating stuffed animals to the police department for almost a decade.
