DENVER (KRQE) – A suburban Denver school district is disputing claims by a former cafeteria worker that she was fired for giving free meals to students.
The story has gone viral and now the school district is speaking out as to why they decided to fire Della Curry.
“There area number of documented issues that would have lead to the action that we took. It has nothing to do with her giving free food to hungry kids? There are no hungry kids. We feed every child,” school officials said.
The district couldn’t give specifics about what Curry did to get fired and they say they have no intention of releasing her personal file to the public.
