SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Santa Fe’s new middle school finally has a name.

In 2016, the school board voted to combine DeVargas and Capshaw Middle Schools. Several names were considered.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, after a debate Tuesday night the board chose Milagro Middle School. “Milagro” means “miracle” in Spanish.

The new school is set to open in August 2018. It will be up the seventh graders from Capshaw to choose Milagro’s mascot and school colors.
