Santa Fe to vote on plans for new building near historic landmark

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Next week, Santa Fe City Council is expected to decide weather a four-story building can be built next to the Loretto Chapel.

Maggie Anderson and her family own the Loretto Chapel and the surrounding property. The family wants to place the building right next to the Santa Fe landmark, but the city denied their application, saying it’s too tall.

If the plans are approved, the building would also include space for weddings and an underground parking garage.
