Santa Fe schools update campus security practices

The Santa Fe School District is making efforts to provide a safer school environment.

The board is moving forward with the idea to place armed police officers at some schools.

They voted to talk with the new city council and mayor about how to come up with the money for the officers.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, the board also approved a plan to study if educators should better prepare students by teaching shooting-response protocols and holding classroom training drills.
