SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Santa Fe Mayor Javier Gonzales is denying allegations of sexual assault.
A man confronted Mayor Gonzales during a city council meeting last month claiming Gonzales abused a female family member more than 35 years ago.
The District Attorney’s office confirmed he’s being investigated for sexual assault by State Police.
Gonzales called the allegations slanderous and part of a political attack.
He ended his bid for lieutenant governor last week saying his heart was not in the race.
