Santa Fe crosswalk improvement budget approved

News

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – More than two dozen crosswalks in Santa Fe will be getting spruced up. A plan to spend nearly $117,000 to install new pavement markings at 25 intersections was approved Monday.

The city’s traffic engineer tells the Santa Fe New Mexican that they haven’t painted a crosswalk there in 20 years and many of them have worn away putting pedestrians at risk. They will use an intersection tape which is more expensive, but lasts longer than paint.
