Sandia National Laboratory is behind a new technology that could improve hydrogen-powered cars.

The labs have teamed up with the largest hydrogen retailer in the United States, First Element Fuel.

They will build more liquid hydrogen fueling stations and help modernize fire safety codes for the fueling stations.

Sandia Laboratory says these stations use liquid hydrogen instead of gas so they can store more of it in the same amount of space.
