Ruidoso to hold meeting about proposed housing project.

News

The Village of Ruidoso is trying to clear up rumors circulating about a proposed housing project.

The city says the new building planned for midtown Ruidoso would be no more than three stories, in accordance with the village’s standards. Not 15 or 20 stories, as some residents believed.

The village also wants to clarify that it is not a low-income housing complex.

It is intended as “affordable workforce housing,” geared toward people who have jobs and can pass a credit check.

Even so, some are still concerned about the added traffic and burden on the area.

The village is holding a meeting Thursday to help inform the community about the project.
