Roswell’s UFO Festival provides boost to economy

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – This year’s UFO Festival proved to be a major boost to Roswell’s economy.

With about 15,000 people from at least 34 states and 19 countries, the UFO Festival raked in an estimated $1.5 million.

The festival itself costs about $93,000 to put on, contributing more than $18,000 to Roswell’s main street.

The celebration pays homage to the 1947 UFO crash on ranchland north of Roswell.
