Roswell police arrest suspected cold-case killer

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Roswell police have arrested a suspected cold-case killer.

Juan Olivares Jr., 33, is accused in the murder of 22-year-old Jonathan Ledesma in 2004. Olivares was arrested Tuesday in Avondale where he’s been living for the past years.

Investigators believe Olivares shot Ledesma after a dispute between the two. They say Olivares then shot himself to fabricate a story that another person shot him and Ledesma.
