Roswell planetarium employee investigated for inappropriate relationship with girl

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – A substitute teacher and employee of the Roswell planetarium is under investigation for possibly having an inappropriate relationship with an underage girl.

Details of the alleged relationship are not being released and neither is the man’s name because he has not been charged.

Police say the situation is still under investigation.

The district says the man teaches astronomy classes every other day at the planetarium to students from Goddard and Roswell High School.

“The city and the school district have a contractual arrangement where the school can use planetarium for some of its classes that were taught this particular person,” Roswell Police Spokesperson Todd Wildermuth said.

The city is now trying to find a replacement to run the planetarium. Until then, it is closed.
