ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Plans for a recreation center and aquatic facility are moving forward in Roswell.

Thursday night, the city council approved three separate gross receipts tax increases to fund the $20 million project.

The aquatic center will replace Cahoon Pool which was closed last year because of leaks and other problems. The recreation center will replace the now closed Yucca Recreation Center.
