RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Rio Rancho councilors will convene to discuss making changes that could impact people and pet stores.
They’ll consider adopting a ban on the sale of dogs and cats by a pet store.
Also, they explore requiring that both cats and dogs are spayed or neutered.
Right now, only cats are required to do so.
The ordinance would look to improve overall animal welfare in the city.
The meeting is Wednesday night starting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers in Rio Rancho.
