The Bernalillo County Conduct Review Board says State Auditor and former County Commissioner Wayne Johnson violated the county’s code of conduct.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that the violation happened during his run for mayor of Albuquerque.

The Board voted 3 to 2 that Johnson allegedly accepted a $2,500 donation from a restricted donor or from an individual or company doing business with, or looking to do business with the county.

They say restricted donors can contribute a maximum of $1,000.
