Restraining order filed against undersheriff in sexual harassment case

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – A restraining order has been filed against a New Mexico undersheriff for sexual harassment.

Dona Ana County’s Ken Roberts is accused of entering an employee’s office in June, sitting on her lap while shaking his butt, and saying he “always wanted to try that.”

Roberts was suspended for 10 days without pay after the claims were substantiated. According to the Las Cruces Sun-News, the female employee has filed a restraining order against him.

In the court records, the woman described Roberts as dangerous, alleging that he is “revengeful” and has threatened others.

A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 9 to decide if the order should be extended.
