Remote areas of Navajo Nation get phone, internet access

NAVAJO NATION (KRQE) – People in some of the most remote parts of the Navajo Nation now have access to phone and internet thanks to the sun.

Sacred Wind Communications is now offering solar powered internet and phone access to those without electricity.

Those who qualify for the program will receive free installation. Officials say the solar units can power a home phone, a laptop or a tablet, a TV and a lamp.
