Perdue chicken nuggets recalled due to possible wood contamination

Over 68,000 pounds of chicken nuggets are being recalled by Perdue Farms due to a possibility of them extraneous materials, including wood.

The recall is for 22 oz plastic bags of frozen Perdue SimplySmart Organic breaded gluten-free chicken breast nuggets will include a best by date of 10/25/19 and a UPC Bar Code 72745-80656 on the label.

The product will also show the establishment number as P-33944 which can be found inside the USDA mark of inspection.

This product was shipped to retailers nationwide.

While there have not been any confirmed reports of harmful reactions as a result of eating the nuggets, anyone concerned about illness is encouraged to contact their healthcare provider.

The issue was first discovered after three consumer complaints reported wood was found in the product.
