ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Duke City is the first stop for this worldwide tour of award winning modern quilts.
The quilts are from a competition at the QuiltCon 2015, an event that brings together modern quilters from around the world.
These quilters join together to teach, lecture, and also compete.
The collection is approximately 20 quilts and will be available to view at the Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta on Thursday, May 21 through Saturday, May 23 at the EXPO New Mexico.
The modern quilt aesthetic is inspired by modern design and includes of bold solid colors, improvisational piecing and expansive space.
Find these quilts in the Manuel Lujan Building located at 300 San Pedro Dr. NE.
Tickets can be purchased at the door. One day tickets cost $5, two day tickets $8, and three day tickets cost $10.
