Proposed Santa Fe truck stop still needs to be presented at county hearing


SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A conceptual plan for a controversial truck stop in Santa Fe is still up for a presentation in a county hearing, but the mayor of Santa Fe is speaking out against it.

Developers are hoping to build a Flying J truck stop at I-25 and Cerillos.

The plan has drawn a strong community opposition from locals concerned about its impact on traffic, safety and the environment.

Santa Fe Mayor tweeted Tuesday that the corridor needs to be protected from commercial development. A final hearing is still required before the County Planning Commission.
